Terms of service
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Welcome to Kovoy. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. We wrote them in plain language because we want you to actually understand them, not skip past them.
What Kovoy is
Kovoy is a private, end-to-end encrypted digital ecosystem, built for two people. The product is in active development: some features may change, be added, or be removed as we keep building.
Your account
To use Kovoy you need to be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in your country if it's different.
You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens in your account. The account is individual: don't share your password with anyone, not even your partner. Each of you creates your own to link up.
Acceptable use
Don't use Kovoy for illegal activity, to harass your partner or third parties, to distribute content that violates other people's rights, or to try to break the service's encryption, security, or technical limits (for example, with bots, scraping, or automated accounts).
End-to-end encryption protects your privacy; it doesn't authorize you to use Kovoy for illegal purposes. Upon a credible report of misuse, we may suspend the account involved even when we can't read its encrypted content.
Your content
The content you share in your private space is yours. You're responsible for what you upload and share. By design, Kovoy can't access or moderate that content: end-to-end encryption keeps us out too.
Service availability
Kovoy is in an early stage of development. There may be interruptions or changes as we keep improving the product; we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Leaving your private space
Leaving your private space is a permanent, irreversible decision: you lose access to the content shared there. The app explains this clearly before you confirm.
Changes to the service
We may modify, add, or discontinue product features at any time.
Account suspension
We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, that pose a risk to other people, or upon a credible report of illegal activity, even when we can't verify the encrypted content directly.
What this clause covers
Like any product in active development, we can't promise Kovoy is free of bugs or that it will run without interruptions, so it's provided "as is" regarding availability and functionality, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This doesn't affect our security commitment: end-to-end encryption and the other measures described in our privacy policy hold at all times, no matter the state of the service.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything meaningful, we'll let you know before it takes effect.
Acceptable use
You may not use Kovoy to store, share or distribute illegal content, or to harass or threaten another person. You also may not use the service to pass content to third parties or to create accounts in bulk.
Even though your messages are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read them, we may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Requests from authorities
If a competent authority asks us for information through a valid legal process, we can only provide the data we hold in the clear (for example, account data and metadata). We cannot provide the content of your messages or private space, because we have no way to decrypt it.
Reporting abuse
If you see illegal content or abuse, write to us from the feedback option inside the app.
